Copper Half Bangle Bracelets

My Step by Step Wire Jewelry magazine arrived in the mail two days ago, much to my surprise and delight! My husband handed it to me and said, "You have some new play pretties!" I began to wonder why they had sent me another magazine, since I decided to not to renew my subscription before Thanksgiving. Trust me, I love this magazine because it gives me so many ideas and valuable information, it was not an easy choice! But there were too many other things that needed to come first! I said to my darling husband, "Wonder why they sent me another magazine, I didn't renew my subscription." He responded with, "Merry Christmas!" I just started to cry, then gave him a big hug and kiss! What a wonderful surprise, so totally unexpected and so very appreciated! His response to my tears was quite humorous, "Next time I'll just get you another magazine instead of jewelry!" LOL! My response.....honey, go right ahead, I'll make the jewelry you just get me the magazines to feed my imagination!

The inspiration for these two half bangle bracelets are from Sharilyn Miller's article in the current issue of Step by Step. Both are made with natural copper wire and have sterling silver accents. The bracelet in the top picture has some awesome turquoise beads, which pair so well with copper wire! The other bracelet has 8mm round agate beads in a beautiful deep green. The thing I love about both bracelets is you can shorten or lengthen them to fit any size wrist by adding or removing the handmade copper links!

A Copper and Agate Wire Wrapped Ring

A beautiful teal green 8mm agate round bead is surrounded in swirls of smooth and wrapped copper wire that are reminiscent of the waves and winds at the seashore!

Into the Whirlpool

At the center of a whirlpool of copper wire you will find an awesome agate bead loaded with color: Mossy green, ochre, and rust brown that all seem to be swirling around within the center! With all these gorgeous earthy colors, wrapping it with copper wire was the natural choice!

The Octopus

Agate and Copper Ring

A unique wire wrapped copper ring that will wrap itself around your finger like the tentacles of an octopus!

This gorgeous ring has a sturdy three wire base, that is ring is wrapped with yards of very fine copper wire and is strong enough to stand up to everyday wear! The natural copper wire will only change color slightly with wear because of a protective coating on the wire! You can clean your copper jewelry by mixing lemon juice and salt together to make a paste and rub gently to remove tarnish.

The focal point of the ring is a 12mm agate disk has subtle shades of rust, and mauve that combine perfectly with the copper wire! It is held in place by the two copper tentacles that curl around the side of the agate disk!

Here are some very interesting octopus facts:

They have three hearts, two that pump blood through the gills and one pumps blood through the body

Each tentacle has 240 suction cups to hold its prey (that’s a total of 1920 suction cups!)

If they loose a tentacle, they can regenerate a new one

They are completely deaf and communicate by changing colors

Lighting Bolt Ring

One hot little ring with a bolt of copper lighting shooting across it! The 12mm round agate has loads of gorgeous colors, rust brown, mauve and gray that all coordinate perfectly with the copper wire! Made with natural copper wire (not craft wire), it will patina nicely with wear. If you prefer the copper to remain bright, just clean it regularly by pouring Worcestershire Sauce over the wire! This beautiful 35mm x 25mm teal green moss agate cabochon is topped with swirls and a beaded crest that almost looks like a crown! The cabochon has many soft shades of green including teal, forest green with touches of blue gray, it is a very unique stone!

The bale is 1/4 of an inch across and would easily accommodate a rope chain or leather cord necklace.
