My two boys are into anything about outer space, so we usually borrow at least one space book each time we go to the library! Here are a few things I learned from the book, Messages from Mars, by Loreen Leedy and Andrew Schuerger. There are two moon that orbit Mars named Phobos and Deimos, and compared to the Earth's moon they are both very small! Phobos is 27 km, Deimos is 15 km, and our moon is 3,476 km! They both are a strange potato shape and Phobos has lots of craters on it! Guess you are never too old to learn something new!

When I made this ring, Mars kept coming to mind; the following may be the reasons why! The 8mm round carnelian bead is a beautiful shade of red brown, much like the surface of the planet, which has lots of iron and other minerals. There are two tiny 2mm gold filled beads that orbit the carnelian bead, like the moons Phobos and Deimos! Also, when I asked my oldest what planet this bead reminded him of, he immediately replied Mars! That sealed the deal, this ring was just meant to be named after Mars the Red Planet!

This lovely carnelian ring is a size 6 (US), if you need another size please convo me, I still have a few of these carnelian beads in stock!
New! Check out more of my photos on Flickr at:

Very cool ring, and the story about the Mars moons. I also LOVE your verse mentioned on the side: Psalm 37:4. I struggle with putting Him first all the time. I'm pretty selfish that way, but I'm so glad He's faithful and so patient and merciful with me!

Elegantly yours.....
