GOD Said NO -

I asked God to take away my habit.

God said, No. It is not for me to take away, But for you to give it up.

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.

God said, No. His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary.

I asked God to grant me patience.

God said, No. Patience is a byproduct of tribulations; It isn't granted, it is learned.

I asked God to give me happiness.

God said, No. I give you blessings; Happiness is up to you.

I asked God to spare me pain.

God said, No. Suffering draws you apart from Worldly cares And brings you closer to me.

I asked God to make my spirit grow.

God said, No. You must grow on your own, But I will prune you to make you fruitful.

I asked God for all things That I might enjoy life.

God said, No. I will give you life, So that you may enjoy all things.

I asked God to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me.

God said...Ahhhh, Finally you have the idea.

If you love God, send it on.

This day is yours, don't throw it away!

Bridal Inspiration....
Part II

At long last I have finished the bridal necklace using some of the components in the picture below! It took the better part of day, but it was worth every moment! I really wanted to work on this piece without interruptions, and today was the perfect day to get it completed! Being mostly sunny and mild, my kids and husband were outside most of the day, so I devoted my time to this necklace!

This was the first time I have started with a drawing and ended up with a piece of jewelry! Usually my designs are ideas floating in my mind and I make adjustments to fit the components altogether! Since not everyone can visualize ideas, I went to the initial meeting with the bride with three different drawings in hand. She chose with the one I really wanted to do! Having a drawing made this was a very pleasant process, one that I will do again!

Next order of business...delivering all the jewelry to the bride-to-be, and I can't wait for her to see it! I promise there will be pictures of everything, but only after the bride see them!

Blessings,
Debra

Bridal Inspiration...

As a jewelry designer, one of my favorite things is creating jewelry for the bride-to-be and her wedding party! There's just something about the romance of a wedding day, whether it be a simple gathering of family and friends or a huge platinum affair, I feel honored to be a small part of that special moment! Searching for just the right color of beads to go with bridesmaids gowns and sparkly crystals and pearls for the bride's jewelry can truly be challenging! Even so, from the first meeting with the bride-to-be to the delivery of the each handmade piece of jewelry, I enjoy the process! You might say that I'm a hopeless romantic!

It is my pleasure to be a part of another wedding here in Knoxville this coming spring! The bride has chosen a gorgeous palette of tanzanite, light amethyst with accents of robin's egg blue for her wedding day! After my first meeting with the bride-to-be, while making dinner for my family and I realized that my own china had many of the same colors we had discussed that afternoon!

Since Swarovski has a fantastic selection of colors in their crystals and pearls, I had no trouble finding beads to go into my jewelry designs for this event!

I look forward to showing you the finished pieces of jewelry soon, but not before the bride has seen them! So check back, there will be upcoming posts on this jewelry and much more!

Debra

Think Spring!

Armed with all kinds of seed packets, I am ready to start a new season of gardening! The last two days temperatures have been warmer, but windy here in East Tennessee, and has made me long for spring! Winter's cold weather started early, with snow in November, and was still sending those white flakes just a week ago! So let me say that I am officially over cold and snow, go away winter and send spring!

The daffodils, crocus and forsythia are starting to bloom, the daylilies are pushing up through the mulch, and the pansies planted last fall are blooming, so I know that warm weather is on the horizon! Yea!

Hope it's warm and sunny where you are!

Blessings,
Debra

Here is something yummy to warm you on even the coldest days, a chai tea latte! Made with cream and chocolate syrup, this delicious drink has become one of my very favorites! Hey, what's not to love it has chocolate in it!

Hope you are staying warm wherever you are!

Debra
