Bridal Inspiration....

Part II

At long last I have finished the bridal necklace using some of the components in the picture below! It took the better part of day, but it was worth every moment! I really wanted to work on this piece without interruptions, and today was the perfect day to get it completed! Being mostly sunny and mild, my kids and husband were outside most of the day, so I devoted my time to this necklace!

This was the first time I have started with a drawing and ended up with a piece of jewelry! Usually my designs are ideas floating in my mind and I make adjustments to fit the components altogether! Since not everyone can visualize ideas, I went to the initial meeting with the bride with three different drawings in hand. She chose with the one I really wanted to do! Having a drawing made this was a very pleasant process, one that I will do again!

Next order of business...delivering all the jewelry to the bride-to-be, and I can't wait for her to see it! I promise there will be pictures of everything, but only after the bride see them!

Green Bananas

Lime Green Dyed Howlite Necklace

A simply luscious 40mm piece of lime green howlite is the focal point of this necklace! The color reminds me of green bananas with it's bright green color with touches of yellow here and there on the stone. Add in a coordinating black leather cord necklace with handmade sterling silver findings and you have one awesome piece of jewelry!

In Spring - A Casual Jade and Leather Necklace

A lovely 30mm square jade pendant in soft shades of olive, with a few tiny fleck of brown is the focal point of this necklace! There are several internal inclusions in the stone that give it the look of rock strata and add lots of interest! The pendant has a matte finish, and is slightly domed in the center, making it a very thick 10mm wide.

A rich chocolate brown 1mm leather cord is wrapped around the pendant for a very casual look! To hold the necklace all together, there are handmade natural copper wire findings: a large fishhook, figure eight and coils, which will all patina with wear.


The In Spring necklace is an ample 25-1/2 inches in length so you can wear it with many different outfits! The Tessa Necklace

Simply elegant OOAK five strand necklace with a beautiful dichroic pendant in shades of blue, and shifts to purple! This 22-1/2 inch long necklace is a real show stopper, and it won a ribbon at the Knox County fair in 2006!

The focal pendant was one of several pieces made in a class at I took at a local art gallery! I love how the dichroic glass just seems to glow in sunlight and it has a little tunnel at the top so the beaded strand just slides through it! The pedant alone is 2-1/8 inches in length and 7/16 at its widest point! Because I did not add the third layer of clear COE 90 dichroic glass, the surface of the pendant has some texture!

Each strand is made of peacock seed beads that are interspersed with faceted jet black Czech and is strung on a professional grade beading wire. At the back, you will find gorgeous sterling silver Bali bead cones and a sterling silver toggle clasp! For a feminine touch, there is a little dangle with Swarovski crystals and a sweet swirl at the bottom! The Tessa Necklace is a OOAK piece that would be a wonderful addition to your jewelry wardrobe! Peridot and Rose Quartz Necklace, my latest custom made item. I love pink and green together, they compliment each other so well and remind me of springtime! This necklace is 16 1/2" long, with a 2" sterling silver extender chain. There is a small rose quartz and peridot dangle at the end of the extender chain. The rose quartz pendant is on sterling wire with a swirl on the bottom and a peridot Swarovski bicone on the top. Lots of sterling spacers are added in between the peridot chips for a little bit of sparkle. Loved this combination so much, I had to have one myself!
